NT-H2 is the further improved second
generation of Noctua's award-winning hybrid thermal compound. It combines the
excellent ease of use and the proven long-term stability of the popular NT-H1
with a new, further optimized microparticle formula for even better thermal
performance. Regardless of whether it is air or water cooling, CPU or GPU
applications, overclocking or silent systems: NT-H2 consistently achieves top
results and thanks to the cleaning cloths supplied, the paste can be removed
just as easily as it is applied - an enthusiast's choice Solution for the
highest demands. In order to further improve the multiple award-winning NT-H1,
the mixture of metal-oxide micro-particles was consistently further optimized
for NT-H2 in order to enable an even lower thermal resistance and thinner layers
with typical contact pressure. In this way, NT-H2 can achieve even better
results in most application scenarios. NT-H2 spreads excellently under pressure
and therefore does not have to be applied manually before installing the cooler:
you simply apply some paste to the CPU, put the cooler on - done. The 3.5g pack
comes with three large NA-CW1 cleaning wipes moistened with a special solution
that makes removing NT-H2 a breeze: just wipe the paste off the CPU and the CPU
with one of the wipes the contact surface of the cooler and you're done. While
the use of some high-end thermal compounds and pads is risky due to their
electrical conductivity or corrosive properties, you are always on the safe side
with NT-H2: no risk of short circuits, problem-free use with CPU coolers of all
types (copper, aluminium, with or without nickel plating, etc.). The special
formulation of the paste shows excellent long-term stability even after
intensive use. Thus, NT-H2 can be stored at room temperature for at least 3
years and can be used on the CPU for 5 years or more thanks to its excellent
curing, bleeding, dry-out and thermal cycling characteristics. Some thermal
greases require a longer break-in period to reach full performance, and some
thermal pads require a separate burn-in process. In contrast, NT-H2 is
immediately fully operational and requires no special preparations.
